Independence comes first
Tasks are candidates for parallel execution only when their dependencies and shared state allow it. Running dependent work early can produce inconsistent results.
Resources have limits
Connected systems, people and execution workers have finite capacity. Concurrency without backpressure can overwhelm those resources and make recovery harder.
Retries can repeat consequences
Repeating an external action is different from repeating a calculation. A workflow needs explicit handling for uncertain outcomes and duplicate actions before retry behaviour is trustworthy.
Throughput is not the only goal
The intended Agents OS direction treats correctness, governance and useful outcomes as constraints on parallelism. No performance comparison or benchmark result is asserted.
